The Rotary Club of Kāpiti has set up a Facebook Page at Give a Little for folks to make a contribution through the club to the Rotoract Club of Yala, Kathmandu, where one of our ex Rotary Youth Exchange Students, Nirjan Shakya is a member.
Nirjan has led his fellow club members with rescue efforts post earthquake and is now leading initiatives into helping rebuild villages and assist desperate residents around the Kathmandu valley that are forgotten or overlooked by the big charities and politicians.
For example, they are managing the collection and rid of waste, buying and delivering water, water purification equipment and tablets, manufacture (from saris) and distribution of reusable sanitary pads.
Every dollar you contribute goes to the Rotary Club of Yala through our club.
It is going to be a long haul for them but every $1, $10 -$100 will count.
