Bastille Day joie de vivre with Kapiti Petanque

Tony and Kathy Gatford celebrating Bastille Day at the Kapiti Petanque Club

Staying true to the Kāpiti Petanque Club’s  tradition, Bastille Day (July 14) was celebrated, with members coming dressed for the occasion.

The weather stayed fine for them,  apart from a slight drizzle for a few minutes.  Before start of play, a Rainbow appeared which augured well for the day.

During play, some French was spoken, but it was doubtful that anyone would have understood. In fact, it was more creative than actual conversation, which generated plenty of laughter.

Two games were played, before partaking of the delicious food which various members provided.  A vote was taken to select the winner of ‘Best Dressed’.  The vote was unanimous, with Tony and Kathy Gatford being joint winners.
