Kāpiti Coast Enterprising at 50Plus

The Kāpiti Coast is a thriving part of our economy and it has its fair share of entrepreneurs who are 50 Plus.
Three local entrepreneurs recognised the growing number of people, like themselves who are 50 Plus, want to work, but also want greater flexibility, independence and life balance in how they go about this.
Adrian, Jill and Angela, initiated the Enterprising at 50 Plus Network to encourage other self-starters in the community to come together to meet, network, share ideas and lessons learned and to support one another to be successful.
Angela says there was a great deal of interest and enthusiasm in forming the network, with 29 people attending the first meeting in February.
“We discovered we have an enormous amount of skills and experience between us. Ideas were put forward on what everyone wanted to get out of the network, and how that might be facilitated each month. “Taking on board everyone’s suggestions, people had the opportunity to pitch their business or their business idea at the March meeting.
The next Enterprising at 50 Plus Network meeting is on Monday 29th April 6-8pm, at the Paraparaumu Library meeting room.
The theme is ‘What’s Your Point Of Difference?’ Peter Jackson, who recently won an Electra Business Award will share his perspective on this topic. This is a not-for-profit network, there is no membership fee, although we do ask for $5 koha to cover the room hire and refreshments. All 50Plus entrepreneurs, or budding entrepreneurs are most welcome.
