The Kāpiti Branch of NZ Society of Genealogists is delighted to be hosting Graeme Mackenzie, Chairman of the Association of Highland Clans and Societies, at the Waikanae Baptist Church Hall, Te Moana Road, Waikanae on Tuesday 5 March 2019.
If you have ever wondered about your Scottish ancestry, don’t miss this opportunity to come and listen to him talk about this fascinating topic and how to research your Highland ancestors.
Graeme’s interest in his own family history began in 1989 and he has since become a professional genealogist, gathering together the histories of the Clan McKenzie and Clan MacMillan and other Scottish families and names. He created “Highland Roots”, a genealogical research service specialising, but not working exclusively in Highland clans and families www.highlandroots.org.
Graeme is now pursuing a particular interest in the nature of the Scottish clan and the evolution of the “clan system” and has written extensively and lectures as far afield as North America and Australasia.
