Leading Kāpiti Real Estate manager Eddie Winkel has been inducted into the Professionals Hall of Fame at a ceremony last week in Brisbane.
Mr Winkel, who joined the industry in 1976 says the honour came as a surprise.
He says Professionals have 300 offices in Australia and 50 in New Zealand so being chosen for the Hall of Fame put him in good company as there have only been four from New Zealand in 36 years.
Mr Winkel says a highlight for him was when he got back and staff from the four local offices threw him a surprise morning tea.
He says he feels fortunate to have a committed and supportive team, and watching them develop and succeed gives me a real buzz.
Mr Winkel is well known for his philanthropic work in Kāpiti and last year he served as President of the Kāpiti Rotary Club. He has served for seven years as an Australasian Professionals Board member and is currently Director.
