BBNZ Kiwi Hoops Coaching Course held in Kāpiti

Recently Kāpiti Basketball Association held the BBNZ Kiwi Hoops Coaching Course here in Kāpiti.

15 people attended the course from beginner first time new coaches through to experienced coaches.

The presenter of the course was Monica Mercury who is a BBNZ accredited Kiwi Hoops Trainer.

Angelo Robinson Director of Coaching for KBA and Hoop Club Kāpiti said “the course went for 2 hours and was aimed at Beginner level Coaches parents, teachers and players who wanted to learn more about how to teach basic movement and basketball skills, drills and concepts to children.

It was also aimed at the slightly more experienced school, club or representative coaches who wanted to refresh their coaching skills with up to date and best practice methods.

Coach Robinson said the course was very hands on with lots of interactive activities and with a strong focus on providing fun and participation for young players.

“Coach Mercury was an excellent presenter and certainly made it fun and informative. Everyone enjoyed the course and all passed with flying colours.”

KBA will be holding another Coaching Course at the end of May.
