Rare Shelduck visits Queen Elizabeth Park

A rare chestnut-breasted shelduck has landed in Queen Elizabeth Park! The rare Australian species was spotted in the Marine’s wetland over the weekend.
The lucky duck is the first confirmed record for the Wellington Region for several years.
The sighting is creating a bit of interest among local birdwatchers, so you may come across more than the usual number of people around with binoculars at QEP over the next few days.
