Detective Niall Deehan of the Kāpiti CIB says a 16 year-old Kāpiti male is being referred to Youth Aid, following a fatal crash on the Maungakotukutuku Road on 10 March 2010, where 15 year-old Tiana Law died as a result.
“Youth Aid will address one count of reckless driving causing death and four counts of reckless driving causing injury. Given the age of the male being referred to Youth Aid, rules around name suppression apply.
“The family of Tiana Law have asked for privacy and do not wish to be contacted by media.”
Detective Deehan says Kāpiti Police will be making no further comments on this matter.
