There is an urgent search and rescue operation underway of the coastline at Raumati where a kayak was located and unattended about 500m off the Raumati Beach.
Helicopter sweeps of the area continue along with marine searching from the Lady Elizabeth and Search and Rescue.
The kayak, pictured, being unattended has police concerned for the whereabouts of the owner.
Police would like to contact the owner or anyone who has information that could assist.
