A Speedy Sign at Otaki Races

Cee Are El recorded its breakthrough win in the Speedy Signs Kāpiti Maiden, defeating The Dutch Dame at the Ōtaki Matariki Race Day.

Cee Are El is a 5yo brown mare trained by Ilone Kelly, who is based at Levin. Cee Are El is sired by the stallion Gallant Guru out of the dam Zenno Queen.

Cee Are El, had formerly finished second five times, and was ridden by Mereana Hudson and scored its most significant win to date by a tight margin in a photo finish.

Trainer Ilone Kelly had a memorable day apart from Ce Are El’s win as she also saddled Smartarc (third), Peppery (second), Ain’t Bad (second) all ridden by Hudson, as well as a second place for Vesmart ridden by Madan Singh.

The meeting, hosted by the Ōtaki Maori Racing Club, drew a good crowd with plenty of fun for everyone at the popular family friendly course.
