Two drivers had a lucky escape this afternoon after an intersection crash in Waikanae which looks to have written off both vehicles.
The crash happened at about 4.30pm on the intersection of Nikau, Horopito and Kohekohe Roads.
The driver of the Audi was attended to by paramedics and appeared shaken but physically uninjured. Front and side airbags had deployed in the accident.
The driver of the ute which missed a power pole by a few centimetres also appeared to be uninjured.
The scene was attended by ambulance staff, the Waikanae Volunteer Fire Brigade and Police.
The public may experience some delays in the area. Police are investigating the crash.
