This week will see the recommencement of enhancement work on the Mackays to Peka Peka Corridor (The M2PP Revocation Project).

On Tuesday 5 May, service investigation work recommences on the Mackays to Peka Peka Revocation Project, after New Zealand moved to Covid-19 Alert Level 3 on Tuesday 28 April.
The works will primarily involve hydro excavation (narrow slot trenches) in the berm and shoulder area and is required to positively identify the underground services in the area.
Work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm Monday Friday, with no restrictions to property access as two lanes of the road will remain open.
A project spokesperson says there will be some noise disturbance while the hydro excavator is in operation, but they will try and make this as unobtrusive as possible.
“Work at Alert Level 3 will not look like pre-pandemic work. A range of new health and safety measures have been put in place, including restricted access to sites, requirements for workers to maintain physical distancing to ensure compliance with strict industry standards provided by CHASNZ. However, we need your support also.
To ensure your safety and that of our staff, we ask that you do not directly approach any of our staff on the worksite.”
