Kenakena School are Champions

Bruce McDonald, Principal of Kenakena School

“All four of Kenakena School’s Tournament of Minds teams competed in the National Final at Victoria University on Saturday after winning the right to do so, after winning their respective categories at the Regional Tournament of Minds.
One of our teams became National Primary School Champions in ‘The Arts’ category of Tournament of Minds at Saturday’s National Tournament. They’re off to Hobart at Labour Weekend to compete in the Australasia-Pacific Final.
Kenakena has been National Champions four times now and Australasia-Pacific Champions twice. Congratulations to Janine McDonald and Tatia Downer for preparing our TOM teams for success. Congratulations must go to the winning team of Aroa Al Masri, Maddie Lewis, Zoe Linstrom, Parker Lynch, Lily Gordon, Amber Forsyth, and Mika Doney.
We are proud of the performance of all four of our teams.
To get to a New Zealand final is an achievement in itself.
Thank you to the parents of the children in our four teams for being supportive of their involvement.”
