“Update: Serious crash, Manakau, Horowhenua”
Police have confirmed one person has died at the scene of a crash on State Highway 1 north of Manakau, Horowhenua.
Two vehicles collided around 5:30pm near Kuku East Road.
Police say one other person has been taken to hospital – their injury status is unclear.
Traffic was stopped for a short time and the road will reopen when the Serious Crash Unit has finished at the scene.
Police will be working to clear the scene as quickly as possible – it’s expected at least one lane will reopen initially, with traffic management in place.
