Kāpiti is the Creative Coast

Kāpiti has long been known as a haven for creative people, whether that be in the arts, industry or education.
Peter Jackson went to Kāpiti College and later returned to make movies here (scenes from Lord of the Rings) – why is this important – well Kāpiti has never leveraged off that huge advantage.
We send a highly educated creative workforce off to Wellington every day – the mayor says we need to grow the retirement village sector it has its place but provides few and generally low paid jobs.
Our painters and authors win national and international awards.
We are the creative coast – it is superb branding. The video below, illustrates a pathway.
