Guy family mourns Malcolm Guy’s sad passing

The Guy family has received an incredible amount of support following the passing of community stalwart, Malcolm Guy, QSM and JP, who was 80 years old.

“Malcolm touched many people’s lives in the Horowhenua District through his decades of Local Government service first as Horowhenua County Chairman, then Horowhenua District Mayor and lastly as a Councillor on the Horizons Regional Council,” son Nathan Guy says.

He was involved in many other community and farming organisations, and retained an active and strong interest until just very recently.

“He reached out to all sectors of the community. Malcolm was always willing to listen and help the many people that sought his advice and support.

“The family has been blown away by the number of visitors, phone calls and cards they have received. The community’s support has been overwhelming as we mourn a big loss.”

Malcolm Guy’s funeral service was held at St Mary’s Church in Levin.

Malcolm is survived by his wife Betty, sons Christopher and Nathan, and five grandchildren who provided much happiness to him.
