Kevin Currie on the menu for Electra Business Breakfast

The October 7 Electra Business Breakfast will feature KCDC Regulatory Services GM Kevin Currie as guest speaker.

Kevin has been Group Manager Regulatory Services with the Kāpiti Coast District Council since April 2015. His group is responsible for animal control, building and resource consents, environmental health licensing, compliance monitoring and regulatory quality management.

Kevin has a background in a variety of regulatory roles in both central and local government. Most recently he worked with the Ministry for the Environment on RMA and other resource management matters, and the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment on a project reviewing the building consent processing system in New Zealand. Prior to this he was part of the initial management team for the Environmental Risk Management Authority where he established and operated ERMA’s regulatory systems and processes for hazardous substances and new and genetically modified organisms. Kevin has also worked in resource management for the Otago and Wellington Regional Councils, and earlier in his career with the Manawatu Catchment Board.
