Kāpiti Coast District Council has completed a formal MPI accreditation process and as a result have expanded the range of food businesses they can verify locally.
Council’s Environmental Health team oversees around 340 registered food businesses across the district, and can now verify coffee carts, dairies, some manufacturers, and food trucks operating beyond the district. This will create more convenience for local food businesses and potentially save them both time and money.
Some specialised operators, such as breweries and pack houses, may still require external verification.
Businesses are being contacted directly, with the expanded service rolling out from July.
