Kāpiti has some serious musical talent, and the library wants to hear it!

In collaboration with Crawshaw Music School, The Family Music Store, Mostly Music and Kāpiti Coast District Libraries invite our budding songwriters to create the finest tunes in Kāpiti.

AJ Crawshaw from the Crawshaw Music School says they are pleased to be able to offer sponsorship and help with organisation of this creative event.

“The competition is basically to get people into songwriting,” says AJ.

“While there are categories for younger entries, this is aimed at songwriting in general. Music enriches peoples lives and encourages them to be creative.”

AJ says the prizes are also an incentive to enter – winners will receive either a guitar or a half day of studio recording time.

There are three categories in age groups (each with their own winner):

  • 5-12
  • 13-17
  • 18+.
