Large crowds turned out on Sunday to enjoy the Reikorangi Country Fair.

This was the genuine article for country fairs with pet parades, gumboot throwing, sack races, pony rides, excellent food, a myriad of stalls, and an afternoon of superb music at the Reikorangi Hall and reserve.

Julia Palmer, who chairs the Reikorangi Residents Assn, says it was wonderful to see so many people visiting and enjoying themselves.

“The weather was perfect and rain stayed away til it was all over. Our organising crew did a great job and the range of music and entertainment provided something for everyone. Obviously there is still a great demand for country fairs and we think the Reikorangi Country Fair is here to stay.

Ms Palmer says funds raised from the Fair will go back into amenities for the community.

The entertainment included the national champion Barbershop Quartet Lets Jet who wowed the crowd, after the superb toe-tapping singalong music of the Ukelele Institute.
