The Kāpiti Chorale, a renowned local choral ensemble, is set to bring the gift of music to the community with their upcoming concert, Christus Natus Est.

This enchanting musical event is scheduled for Sunday, November 19, at 3 pm, at St. Paul’s Church, Paraparaumu.

Under the guidance of Music Director Eric Sidoti, a respected choral conductor in the Wellington region, and Assistant Music Director Ann-Marie Stapp, the Kāpiti Chorale promises a remarkable musical experience to conclude their 40th year with this final performance. Eric, who hails from the US and has been living in New Zealand for many years, is an expert in conducting and composition.

Ann-Marie Stapp, with two decades of experience in directing music groups on the Kāpiti Coast, brings her unique mentorship to the chorus.

The concert will feature the musical skills of Pianist Phillip O’Malley and Organist Heather Easting, enriching the experience with their beautiful accompaniments. Additionally, the remarkable talents of Soprano soloist Emily Jane Stockman and Bass soloist Joseph Haddow will take center stage.

The programme for the afternoon includes a selection of classic and contemporary pieces.

The concert will begin with Adeste Fideles by John Wade and features pieces like O Magnum Mysterium by Francis Poulenc and Hallelujah Chorus by George Frideric Handel.

The audience will also be invited to join the chorus for Look Toward Christmas by Jillian Bray.

The highlight of the afternoon is the rare gem, Cecilia McDowall’s Christus Natus Est, a composition by the celebrated UK composer. This exquisite piece is a fitting conclusion to the concert and promises to be a memorable musical experience for all.
