The Kāpiti Coast and Horowhenua look like sharing the honours in the election with three different parties likely to provide the next MP.

In the Ōtaki electorate, hard working Tim Costley has a handy lead for National over current Labour MP Terisa Ngobi.

In the Mana electorate reigning MP Barbara Edmonds has a significant lead for Labour over nearest challenger Frances Hughes for National and a very respectable showing for young Greens candidate Gina Dao-McLay.

The third electorate that covers both Kāpiti and Horowhenua is the Te Tai Hauauru electorate which looks very likely to be won by Te Pati Maori candidate and party co-leader Debbie Ngarewa-Packer.

Ms Ngarewa-Packer has been notable for running a highly engaging and effective campaign which is paying big dividends for Te Pati Maori who look likely to win 4-6 seats.
