Yikes, just 10 more sleeps until Christmas, unless you’re an insomniac in which case its about three more sleeps. Anyway the Christmas shopping seems to have kicked in after a slow start with local retailers reporting a surge in sales in the last few days and a hectic week ahead.
And the message is – Buy Local this Christmas.
Buying locally supports local families says Raumati retailer Bede Laracy, who is on the Executive of the Kāpiti Chamber of Commerce.
“The more we do for our local businesses the better it is for the local economy,” says Mr Laracy.
