Some of our local superheroes are unassuming, quietly moving among us but working tirelessly in our communities.
Every year the Horowhenua Civic Honour Awards officially recognise and celebrate these special people who make our community a better place to live.
In 2021, Liam McLeavey won a Certificate of Recognition. He shared with us his experience:
“It was incredibly moving to be recognised in the 2021 Civic Honours with a Certificate of Recognition, acknowledging my service to the Horowhenua community. To share the awards with my family and close supporters was special, as it was their ongoing support that enabled me to make a positive contribution to Horowhenua. I encourage you to nominate someone who’s made a significant voluntary contribution to the Horowhenua for this year’s Civic Honours.”
Liam has dedicated his entire young adult life to unleashing the potential and improving outcomes for others, particularly young people.
