Record entries for Kāpiti & Horowhenua Business Awards

Celebrating winners at the 2019 Electra Business & Innovation Awards.

Plenty of local businesses, large and small, have had to battle through the impacts of Covid-19. However the resilience of so many is apparent with the Electra Business & Innovation Awards announcing this year’s entries are higher than ever recorded.
Businesses across the Kāpiti and Horowhenua communities have been busy preparing their submissions to the 2020 Electra Business & Innovation Awards and now entries are closed.
This year saw an online platform used for the first time and it’s because of this portal that organisers know exactly how many businesses began entries for 2020 and it was a record number.
This year also sees an almost even split between the two regions entrant numbers – which will make for an exciting competition.
Interestingly the New/Emerging category also has a record number of entries, which organisers say is fabulous news for a year that has seen such a challenging economic climate.
Brendan Duffy, Chair of Business Kāpiti Horowhenua Inc commented, “It’s so encouraging to see so many local businesses entering after what has been such a difficult year for many. We are ecstatic that
entry numbers have risen to this level and we applaud the efforts of those businesses that set aside the time to complete their entry and give their business the time it deserves. We look forward to seeing
them at the Awards Function later this year to celebrate.”
The winners will be announced at the Awards Function on the 9th October at Horowhenua Events Centre. It is set to be a great evening, with the fabulous Michele A’Court as MC, Ruth Pretty catering, Queen Fox as entertainment, spot prizes and of course those all important winner announcements.

Tickets for the Awards Function are on sale now, check out the Awards website – www.bkh.org.nz for further details.
