Kāpiti Business Help Needed for Local Scene Live Aid

Kāpiti businessman and Musician Marc Hamilton and fellow muso AJ Crawshaw are doing their bit to support those affected by the attacks in Christchurch by staging a charity concert here in Kāpiti.
Mr Hamilton says, “to put this terrorist attack on Friday into perspective, a greater proportion of the New Zealand population were killed than the US lost on the attacks of September 11th 2001. That is a frightening statistic.
“That is why AJ Crawshaw and myself are so passionate about making this event on the 30th March a fundraising success, and we really want to make sure that many businesses in the community get a chance to join in and show their support. So what can you do to support us?”
Mr Hamilton says they are going to hold an auction and a raffle on the day so they need businesses to ask themselves, their suppliers, their clients, and their networks to give something great that can be auctioned.
He says “‘What can I donate? My business has no suppliers or doesn’t produce anything for an auction?’, what about a bottle of good wine and a box of fine chocolates, a cinema voucher for the raffle, or an experience, a massage, or club together with others in your group and put together a fabulous package. There is so much that we as members of BNI and our networks can offer and this is a great opportunity to demonstrate that. We will of course mention your business at the auction or you can attach your company details to the donation if you want. Just let us know. We will also be making a full list of those companies that donate their time or a gift and the company will be linked to on the event page and published as widely as we can.”
“We also want the event to be well attended and you can help us by spreading news through your networks. Sharing it on your FB page, mention that you are a supporter and encourage your clients and customers to come along and support.”
Mr Hamilton says so many businesses have given so much in such a short time but more is needed to make this the success it deserves to be.
