Kāpiti Foodbank Appeal stocks shelves

The recent Kāpiti Foodbank appeal was a huge success says organiser Dave Edwards.
“The response from the public was excellent. We collected 250 boxes of food which was about double the amount from last year.”
Mr Edwards says the collection day also raised $1671 in cash donations.
“We also collected 40 boxes of food from the trailor at Pak’nSave the week prior so the response has been great and it puts the Foodbank in good heart with the shelves full.”
Mr Edwards says the Food Bank appeal is organised by the Kāpiti Rotary Club and is assisted by the Waikanae and Paraparaumu Rotary Clubs.
“The Foodbank needs ongoing support and the appeal is a significant help. There will be another appeal with the Lions collection in November.
“We are very grateful to the public and to all of those who assisted with the collection,” says Mr Edwards.
Collectors were stationed outside Waikanae New World, Waikanae Countdown, Pak’nSave, Paraparaumu Countdown, New World Kāpiti Rd, Kenakena Four Square, and Countdown at Coastlands.
