More Success for Kāpiti Brewers

Kāpiti’s three craft beer brewing companies achieved great success at the Brewers Guild of New Zealand Awards held in Christchurch.
Duncan’s Brewing Company from Paraparaumu made an impressive debut in their first year, achieving four medals, while Waikanae’s North End Brewing Company received a haul of 12 medals, including a gold medal for its Rhum Visitation.
Top honours went to Paraparaumu based Tuatara Brewery which achieved 14 medals including best in class/gold for Kapai APA, and best in class/gold for Belgian Tripel.
Tuatara founder and master brewer Karl Vasta says getting a best in class for one beer, let alone two this year, was awesome.
He says the number of medals was an amazing endorsement in what had become a very competitive and high-quality craft sector.
Mr Vasta says Tuatara is a tight-knit team, proud of its Kāpiti roots, so any success is down to everyone’s contribution and it comes down to a love of making great tasting beer.
