Kāpiti Art Auction gets huge support

Organiser Emma Ahern, says the response has been amazing to the upcoming event Harper’s Little Art Auction.
So far over 50 pieces of art have been donated for the auction including works from artists in the UK, USA, Australia and Bali.
Harpers Little Art Auction will help to raise funds for 5 year old Harper Ahern’s journey with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), raise awareness of this progressive and severe neuromuscular disease and to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association of NZ (MDANZ).
The auction will be held at the Southward Car Museum, Otaihanga Rd, Paraparaumu on Saturday 28 October 2017 6:30pm 10:00pm.
Emma says the auction is about raising money but is also helping raise awareness of a disease that affects thousands of New Zealanders. The auction looks like being a huge success and Emma says there is a real chance of it becoming an annual event.
“The sponsors have been really great and 100% of everything for the Auction has been donated which is so amazing.”
Emma says ticket sales are going well and there are also still some sponsorship packages available.
Along with the overseas contributions many well known artists from around New Zealand have donated art to be auctioned on the evening. Nibbles will be provided, and drinks available thanks to Tuatara Breweries. Actor and comedian Cohen Holloway will be MC’ing the event, and alongside special guest speakers there will be a selection of live music from local artists.
A finalised auction list will be available on Harpers Little Art Auction Facebook page in the weeks prior to the event.
