Police are now in a position to name the man who died following a fatal crash on Te Moana Road, Waikanae on Wednesday.
He was 68-year-old Eric Neil Harniss, from Ohau, Levin.
A police spokesperson said the Police’s thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Harniss during this difficult time.
The Serious Crash Unit are investigating.
The accident happened on Wednesday night when is seems the vehicle driven by Mr Harniss may have crossed into the path of the bus which was travelling down Te Moana Rd towards the Beach. The Bus Driver and four passengers were said to be shaken but uninjured.
Mr Harniss died at the scene of the accident.
Te Moana Road was closed following the fatal crash.
