Ratepayers and residents want to be heard

Dear Editor

Local Government Act 2002 states that the council must act in accordance with the following principles: Local authority should conduct its business in an open, transparent and democratically accountable manner, and should have regard to, the views of all of its communities.
The ratepayers and residents of Horowhenua may will ask why our Mayor is Hell-bent on stopping members of the public from speaking at the council meetings, is it because there is something to hide or is it, that the Council could be embarrassed if the public spoke?
Horowhenua Residents and Ratepayers have a right to know
