Roger Booth – Profile

Kāpiti right now, with regional reorganisation imminent, needs experienced councillors. Completing water improvements, updating infrastructure, and moderating negative effects of expressway development are key aspects this term. As Deputy Mayor I have, as promised, helped bind together a courageous, strong and remarkably united council, but there is still much to do.
I have regularly attended Community Board meetings and fostered their work, and supported and encouraged the many selfless individuals and groups across Kāpiti. I was Vice President of Kāpiti Grey Power and have retained my committee role with Kāpiti Age Concern.
My Kāpiti Kids Motivation Trust has brought sporting and arts individuals like Rob Hewitt and Tina Cross into our 21 schools to encourage and motivate Kāpiti children, and I negotiated the development of Health Science Academies in two local secondary schools, and the resiting and rejuvenation of Kāpiti Boxing Sports Academy on Paraparaumu Domain.
