Mahara Arts Review 2013 opens selected works May 11

Mahara Arts Review is a selected exhibition which showcases the creative talents of the Kāpiti to Horowhenua region. Artists living or working in the Kāpiti/Horowhenua region (as defined by Council boundaries), are invited to submit one original artwork in any medium, completed since April 2012.

Awards will be made by the selectors Courtney Johnston, Director of The Dowse Art Museum and Paul Rayner, artist and curator, in the categories of:
$1,000 Open Award, sponsored by Sir Noel Robinson
$500 Highly Commended Award, sponsored by Mowbray Collectables
$250 Student Award, sponsored by Barry Herbert
$200 3-D Award, sponsored by Kāpiti Signs
$200 2-D Award, sponsored by Waikanae Health Centre
$200 Special Merit Award
$200 People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Picture Perfect Framing and Kāpiti Coffee Company, presented on Saturday 22 June.
