Winter luncheon warms up business community

The annual Kāpiti Chamber of Commerce Winter Luncheon at Southwards Car Museum was once again a great success.

Those who attended were treated to a quality lunch and award winning wines from Ohau Gravels. They were also treated to an entertaining and thought provoking presentation from Phil O’Reilly, Chief Executive of BusinessNZ.

The Chamber hosted lunches continue to attract top quality speakers, and Phil O’Reilly was no exception. His extensive experience representing New Zealand businesses overseas, and advocating on behalf of the business community in New Zealand, has provided a wealth of anecdotes as well as detailed inside knowledge on the global economic climate and the state of the New Zealand economy.

Phil touched on many issues, including the fragility of the European economy and member states, the Government’s current thinking on important issues such as mining, the importance of open and fair debates on sensitive national issues, the future outlook for the New Zealand economy, and many other interesting topics.

The luncheon was kindly sponsored by BNZ and Ohau Gravels Wines. The Chamber is grateful for their support – without such support, hosting events such as these would not be possible.
