Parking is available in Queen Elizabeth Park. At 11.30am there will be a procession into the Farm. Then picnics and music in the Dell (or picnic anywhere) as well as various activities in the early afternoon.

Please come and join the Whareroa Guardians in celebrating this event and invite your family and friends.

Entrance and other works

The Department of Conservation had a mega working bee recently and planted the whole entrance area. It looks magnificent.

Ann Evans for the Guardians said “DOC have put huge resources into preparing the farm for community use we thank them, especially Wayne Boness who has coordinated the development.”

The “wheelchair” track has been “hot mixed” and gives a smooth circuit, right down to the stream.

Fencing to separate the farm race from grazing is advanced and the culvert carrying the Ti Kouka Steam under the race has been replaced with a much larger, fish friendly one.

This is a great day for Kāpiti and all are welcome.
