Where is the long term plan

Editor,

The points made re. traffic lights etc. are fair comment about the present SH1 access to, and exit from the Kāpiti Coast. However, I suspect that the snarl ups between Paekākāariki and the Mana roundabout are likely to increase so negating any savings made on the the Expressway transit. There appears to be no long-term plan which would encompass tunnels/flyovers at the Waikanae and Kāpiti traffic lights, take into account the traffic flow around Coastlands and the projected increase in traffic associated with the expansion of Paraparapaumu Airport. We all seem to forget that the days of affordable petroleum products may be numbered and alternative means of transportation should be on the agenda.
I am enjoying being able to utilise the new Kāpiti rail service and am looking forward to new carriages and better time- keeping.

Regards
