R Wood, in her/his letter of support for the expressway and criticism of Darren Hughes neglects to mention that Darren and the Labour Party, unlike Nathan Guy and the National Party, have not done a U-Turn since the last election.
Both parties campaigned for transmission Gully, an upgrade to SH1, and a local road and bridge between Waikanae and Paraparaumu. This local road, funded by the Labour led Government would have been partially completed by now.
Thanks to Steven Joyce and his Auckland trucking cronies, we now have to put up with traffic jams for years.
