Business Awards Finalists Named for Horowhenua and Kāpiti

Sixteen Horowhenua and Kāpiti businesses have been named as finalists in this year’s Electra Business Awards.

The finalists are: Allen Paper Ltd, Audarya, Aura Software Security, Burst Drive Thru Cafe, Chelsea House Early Childhood Centre, Click Happy, Eden Design Ltd, Hardy’s Health Store Coastlands, Levin New World, Lloyd Construction, Monteith’s Brewery Bar Kāpiti Junction, Ohau Playcentre, Pre-Nail Systems, Southern Secrets Tours, Te Horo Foods Ltd and Veritas Computer Services Ltd.

The winners of the twelve categories will be announced at a gala dinner in Levin on Friday 1st October where the theme will be “Happy Days Are Here Again” recognising the 50s and the compere will be popular New Zealand entertainer, Frankie Stevens.

Organiser, Kirsten Kilmister, is encouraging people attending to dress to the theme, even if it is only a scarf, a full skirt, flared trousers or luminous socks. “No doubt some will still prefer to wear dinner suits,” she says and “in reality it is up to each individual to choose whether or not to acknowledge the theme but it’ll be a lot of fun if people do.”

For the first time, there will be a period for dancing at the end of the programme with rock and roll programmed into the juke box.
To encourage socialising, organisers have just announced that a bus has been organised to transport people to the awards from Raumati, Paraparaumu Beach, Coastlands, Waikanae, Te Horo and Ōtaki at a cost of $10 each.
