Campaign Statement

Next Three Years:
Oppose the privatization of water.
Work constructively with other councillors to control rate spending
Support storage of water as an answer to drought.
Insist on infrastructure before development.
Work constructively with the health trust/health board, NZTA and Regional council on key issues.
Push for a 24 Hour, 4 bed acute medical centre here in Paraparaumu.
Be proactive to protect our interests in any upcoming local authority amalgamation directive from government.
Sort out Kāpiti Rd traffic issues.
Continue with waste reduction and sustainable development policies.
My Past Achievements:
Served my first three year apprenticeship on our district council.
Chair of Dog objections committee, Deputy Chair Regulatory committee. Creative grants committee.
I hold higher degrees from Victoria and Massey Universities and a doctorate (1997) from Auckland University, (Education).
A Justice of the Peace.
Active member of KAWS (animal welfare).
Member of Transition Towns group, working for a sustainable future.
Have taught army and police personnel at university level.
A ratepayer for almost 40 years in Kāpiti.
Six years on local and four on National board of Greypower NZ.
Member of RSA and local bowls club. I drive for Kāpiti Carers.
Committee member ‘Abbeyfield Kāpiti’ since its inception,
Rotarian since 1982 Currently Paraparaumu rotary.
