Mark Benton, General Manager of MediaWorks-Radio for Horowhenua and Kāpiti, announced today that he will be a candidate for the Paraparaumu Ward in the upcoming Kāpiti Coast District Council elections.
Mr Benton said he thought it was time to “stand up and be counted, as the Kāpiti Coast is going through a stage at present where decisions made now, will have major implications for growth of the area”.
“It is important that the incoming council make decisions which benefit both residential and business people but are realistic and do not involve the Kāpiti Coast ratepayers facing more unrealistic hikes in their rates”.
Mr Benton is a keen supporter of sport and recreation, and as a councillor would support sporting and recreational endeavours throughout the Kāpiti Coast.
“I think the Kāpiti Coast is a wonderful place to live and it would be an honour to help serve my community and make Paraparaumu and Kāpiti the envy of the country.”
