Book Review – The Impossible Dream By Alaire Dunlop

Kāpiti’s Alaire Dunlop has produced a thoroughly engaging memoir titled The Impossible Dream.

It is described as the “factual story of a woman faced with the tragic loss of her son, and how trying to achieve a childhood dream, she endured an unbelievable situation with dignity.”

It is an honest account of a fascinating live full of triumphs and tragedies and an enduring love affair with the Unites States of America.

Ms Dunlop starts with a chapter on the war years which is a poignant and moving account of her personal experiences during a time of massive upheaval.

We are taken on a journey with Alaire to Los Angeles, to race day in Mexico and to trying times in Beverly Hills.

This memoir is very well written and is a fast paced read. It is highly recommended and is available from Kāpiti libraries.
