Proposed Recycling Bin “covers”
The draft Council annual plan consultation includes a one off cost for recycling bin covers of $10.60. From the feedback we’ve had it’s clear that many don’t know that what’s proposed is a stretchy net cover attached with hooks which clips on to the recycling bin.
The net covers will stop stuff blowing around the village when we get one of our southerly busters on a Tuesday recycling day.
Anzac Day this Sunday
Anzac Day falls on a Sunday this year. The commemoration starts at 8:30am at the Memorial Hall followed by morning tea at 9:30am. In the words of Shirley Murray’s hymn: Honour the dead … weep that we ever sanction war again.
If you plan to march in the parade, please assemble at the foot of Ocean Road by 8:15am.
Campbell Park Skate Bowl
The Council has closed off the half-pipe for repair. The surface has developed an irregularity and to be safe the contractor has been asked to make the repairs under warranty.
Signs and safety mesh will be installed around the half-pipe today. The repair will hopefully be completed by the end of next week. The rest of the skate facility remains open for use.
Please encourage your children to respect the signs and keep off the half-pipe.
