Coast Yarns – Paekākāariki inspires writer

Writer Neil Coleman has had his first book published. COASTAL YARNS is a collection of nine short stories all loosely connected to the New Zealand coastline.
Neil says some are quite sombre (CONNECTED) while others are more tongue in cheek to almost outrageous (GIRLS’ WEEKEND—parts 1-3).

“This all began last year when I came and stayed at my cousin’s bach at Paekākāariki. I had come to visit my editor (Michelle Guest) in Wellington about another book I am working on (Sons of Orpheus). While staying at the bach (I come here alot and have grown to love the place) I started to write my first draft of CONNECTED.”
Neil says from that story came a theme for his book COASTAL YARNS.
“CONNECTED is strongly influenced by the bach at Paekākāariki and the surrounding area.
“My publisher, First Edition in Maungariki, have been very helpful.”
