7.40PM The scene of the crash just south of Waikanae on the old state highway is now being cleared.
The seriously damaged car has been towed and Police say the driver in not seriously injured.
Traffic is now flowing in both directions.

Police and fire service personnel are at the site of a serious crash on the old state highway south of Waikanae.
There appear to be significant delays for traffic heading south toward Paraparaumu. Traffic heading north is slowed but steady moving.
