
Kāpiti College has congratulated the captain of their rugby 1st XV, Riley Dickey, who has been selected for the upcoming Manawatū / Hurricanes Region Under 18 Development Camp, hosted by Manawatū Rugby.
“A well-deserved achievement. Wishing you all the best at camp, Riley, we’re proud of you,” is the message from Kāpiti College.
Riley has been in great form this season and in a match against Hutt Valley High School 1st XV he score four tries.
The Manawatū / Hurricanes Region Under 18 Development Camp is a premier regional pathway initiative hosted by the Manawatu Rugby Union in conjunction with the Hurricanes Youth Rugby Council.
The program is designed to identify and foster top secondary school talent across the Hurricanes catchment.
The 2026 Hurricanes U18 Development Camps are part of the expanded New Zealand Rugby (NZR) Secondary Schools and U18 Pathways Programme.
The program features a series of regional two-day Provincial Union development camps held during the July school holidays, followed by a National U18 tournament week running from September 22 to October 5.
The Hurricanes region covers players from Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, Manawatū, Wairarapa Bush, Whanganui, Poverty Bay, and Horowhenua Kāpiti
