E ngā mana, e ngā reo, tēnā rā tātou katoa.

Brian Ruawai-Hamilton, Maori Ward candidate

‘Mā te huruhuru te manu ka rere – Adorn the bird with feathers so it may fly.’

He uri ahau nō Aotea, Tainui, Te Arawa, Mataatua, Kurahaupō, me Takitimu waka. Ko Brian Ruawai-Hamilton ahau. I stand for kotahitanga – unity and team – believing in serving our people with manaakitanga and integrity.

As part of our unified team ‘We Love Kāpiti’, I commit to three clear pou: Cap rates at an average of 3%; Champion democracy over bureaucracy; Lead with common sense.

Manaakitanga underpinned the 1840 hui at Waitangi, and it must guide us today. I believe in a Tiriti-based future – Toitū te Tiriti! A Treaty for all Kiwis.

I’m standing to ensure our Māori voices are heard and honoured in my home of Kāpiti, which has nurtured my whānau for 35 years. Let’s fly together, strong and united.

All candidates are offered the opportunity to submit a profile and photo for the position they are standing for.
