A section of State Highway 1 near Bulls will be closed on Monday night, while work to remove a truck involved in a crash gets under way.
Emergency services attended the crash about 6.25am on Sunday, after a truck rolled.
The driver was not trapped in the vehicle and received minor injuries, which were assessed and treated by ambulance staff at the scene.
On Monday, from 7pm, contractors will be on the scene to assist with the recovery of the heavy vehicle.
NZ Transport Authority Waka Kotahi advised a detour would be in place while the work was being completed.
Northbound traffic should use State Highway 3 and turn right onto Pukepapa Rd, then onto Skerman St, before continuing onto Bond St and the Calico Line, before turning back onto SH1.
The reverse route should be used by southbound motorists.
