“Tēnei ka mihi ki a Ngāti Haumia ki Paekākāriki, otirā ki a tātou katoa kua noho mai ki te kāinga nei.
“I’m Pākehā, grew up in the South and now fortunate to live here.
“I work as a freelance translator of te reo Māori.
“I’ve seen our community board do all sorts of useful work to support the energetic Paekākāriki community, and I’d be happy to take my turn alongside the rest of the crew.”
