Candidate Statement – Richard Mansell

Candidate – Waikanae Community Board

Richard Mansell, candidate Waikanae Community Board

“I am running for the Waikanae Community Board to continue the work I have been involved with in the last triennium.

“I particularly want to see Waikanae Library finished, see the vision for Waikanae Park completed and work started, and secure the Waikanae Capital Fund in perpetuity with control in the hands of the Waikanae Community.

“I have worked constructively with my fellow Board members and KCDC staff to put Waikanae’s point of view across at every opportunity.

“I have a long and happy association with Waikanae, starting as a 5 year old. I have seen Waikanae change but still retain the small town feel which residents enjoy and value. I want to ensure that while the area grows, it remains supportive of our elderly, provides quality facilities for families, is safe and accessible for pedestrians and cyclists, and respects the special character of various communities in the Waikanae ward.”

All candidates are offered the opportunity to submit a profile and photo for the position they are standing for.
