Rhyna Taratoa, candidate for Ōtaki Community Board

“I’ve always had a passion for serving this community, and now feels like the right time to stand for the Community Board.

“My journey began with the Kāpiti Coast Youth Council, where I discovered how much impact we can make through service.

“That experience ignited a fire in me, which grew stronger through a year of mentorship with Mayor Guru.

“I’ve worked as a teacher aide at Ōtaki College, where I realised advocating for whānau is one of my strengths.

“I’m now in my final year at Te Wānanga o Raukawa, studying for a Bachelor’s in Social Work. I also volunteer with Fire and Emergency NZ, and you’ll often find me supporting whānau and giving back in community spaces.

“I ask for your support to represent Ōtaki, and look forward to serving you on the Board.”

All candidates are offered the opportunity to submit a profile and photo for the position they are standing for.
